Terms of Service

Plain language. No surprises.

Last updated: June 1, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Scramblfix website and word game tools. By using the site, you agree to them. They are written to be read by actual people, not just lawyers.

What Scramblfix is

Scramblfix is a free browser-based word game helper. It includes a word unscrambler, a Wordle solver, a crossword pattern finder, daily challenges, and supporting content. The word search engine runs entirely in your browser — your letters are never sent to our servers.

We offer the core tool free of charge. An optional ad-free experience is available for $0.99 per month.

Using the service

Scramblfix is here for personal use — playing word games, practising vocabulary, solving puzzles. You are welcome to use it for all of that.

Please don't use the site to:

The ad-free option

For $0.99 per month, you can remove all ads from Scramblfix. When you activate this, the site immediately hides every ad element and stores your preference in your browser's local storage. There is no account created. The preference persists on the device and browser where you activated it.

Because we don't maintain user accounts, we are unable to automatically restore your ad-free status on a different device or browser. If you clear your browser data, you may need to reactivate it.

No warranty

Scramblfix is provided as-is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we make no guarantees about uptime, word list completeness, or scoring accuracy. Official Scrabble and Words With Friends word lists are updated periodically and our dictionary may not always reflect the very latest changes.

Scramblfix is not affiliated with Hasbro, Mattel, Zynga, or the New York Times. Scrabble® is a registered trademark. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Intellectual property

The Scramblfix name, logo, and site design are our property. The underlying word list is based on the ENABLE (Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon), which is in the public domain. Word definitions come from the Free Dictionary API under their terms of use. Blog articles on this site are original content — feel free to quote them with attribution, but please don't republish them wholesale.

Limitation of liability

We are not responsible for any negative outcomes arising from use of this site — including, but not limited to, playing a word our tool suggested and having it successfully challenged in a tournament. Use your judgement, especially in competitive play.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the service changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
